Excursions & Activities

An extensive and varied programme of activities awaits children who join Highfield Summer School. All activities and excursions are led by our own professional staff who care deeply about education and guiding children on their own journey of discovery.

Activities Programme

Highfield has fantastic facilities, extensive sports pitches, and 175 acres of beautiful, safe, private grounds and woodlands, all of which are enjoyed by our Summer School students. The main activities sessions are in the evenings after supper, and on Tuesday afternoons, and these provide the opportunity for our overseas guests to experience an exhilarating range of fun boarding school activities.

Summer Camp Golf English course ActivitiesWe always provide a variety of outdoor physical activities as well as less energetic activities, or just the option to curl up with a cup of hot chocolate and a good book if they are in need of some quiet time after a busy day. We make the most of warm summer evenings with BBQs, or special Theme Nights and there is a Farewell Party on the last evening of the course. Given the ages of the students attending the course, activities are group activities and children are supervised at all times.

Excursions

English Summer Course ExcursionsOver the course of the three weeks the students will go on two full day excursions and two half day trips. Our excursions are primarily focussed on visiting places of historical or cultural interest, though there may be some limited shopping opportunities available in their on site gift shop. The exception to this is the first half day excursion, when we usually visit an Outdoor Pursuits Centre where students have the opportunity to get to know each other better and develop their team-building skills.

Popular excursions have included: Windsor Castle, Portsmouth Harbour, Winchester, Arundel Castle and historic and cultural sites in London
