Our aim is to make sure every child reaches their full potential. We acutely recognise that every child’s learning journey is different. No matter what route your child takes, we will provide the secure and enriching environment to ensure they become a courageous learner.

At Brookham School the combination of innovative teaching and learning with superb facilities and resources results in an education that is really rather special. Our ambitious and broad curriculum provides a well-rounded, comprehensive education that draws the best out of every child. The environment at Brookham School is relaxed, with calm, neutral colours and natural materials. The vibrancy comes from the children’s work that proudly adorns the walls of the classrooms. Children respond and thrive in our environment, they are content and confident, bouncing in happily to school each day. Learning flourishes at Brookham School and you will see immense progress in your child’s education.

Think Outdoor First

Brookham School is set in 175 acres of the South Downs National Park in Liphook, on the borders of Surrey, West Sussex and Hampshire. Our stunning grounds are not just a beautiful backdrop. They are there to be enjoyed by children every day - to explore and engage in outdoor adventure. It provides a safe space for your child to learn beyond the classroom walls. Each classroom has direct access to the great outdoors. What better way to learn about circumference than to go and measure the trees in our woodland?

Remarkable Facilities

Our extensive facilities include a Theatre, Art Studio complete with our very own kiln, Music School and extensive sports facilities, including indoor swimming pool and all-weather pitch. We are part of Highfield Prep School and benefit from the daily use of their facilities; 15 sports pitches, 4 tennis and netball courts, 9-hole golf course, cross country course, adventure playground and beautiful woodland used for mountain biking, forest school, bushcraft, camp-outs and our very own outdoor cinema.

Specialist Teaching

As consistently shown in research, the quality of teaching is critical to pupil’s progress and achievement. We seek out and employ experienced and highly qualified teachers who show true enthusiasm and passion for education. Our teachers are supported by a team of skilled teaching assistants. They all are trained in teaching phonics which allows them to provide quality support to the children. All children also benefit from weekly lessons in in PE, Music, Swimming, Art, Spanish and Forest School all taught by our specialist teachers.

Soft Skills

We ensure that are children are developing soft skills too and this is a real strength of our approach. Problem solving and creative thinking is interwoven in all our lessons and activities. It is these skills that ensure that children will be well-prepared for their journey through education and beyond. When our youngest children are encouraged to take risks, work flexibly and experiment with ideas, this becomes a normal approach and one that they will take with them throughout their life.

Special Educational Needs

Our aim at Brookham is to ensure that all pupils meet their individual potential and that any particular needs are identified and supported as soon as possible. Initially this will be through careful monitoring and intervention (if necessary) by the class teacher who will liaise with parents and keep them informed of progress and any concerns. The Head of Learning Support (SENCo) observes and assesses children on an informal basis and offers advice and support to class teachers and parents. Additional support is offered targeting specific areas such as boosting phonic knowledge or by individual lessons with qualified specialist teachers. We also have close links with professionals such as occupational therapists and speech and language therapists which enable us to offer a holistic approach to our support.
