Reception Teacher - Full Time (Maternity Cover)

We are seeking to appoint a dedicated, inspirational and enthusiastic fully qualified teacher with a passion for creative teaching to join us from February 2021 to mid July 2021.

Job Description

  • Ensuring that the teacher is up to date on all issues pertaining to Health and Safety and Safeguarding of Children within the school;
  • Taking responsibility for the progress of all pupils within their class;
  • Organising the classroom and learning resources to create a positive learning environment;
  • Planning, preparing and teaching inspirational lessons that cater for the needs of the whole ability range within their class, in line with the school’s challenging and inspirational curriculum;
  • Maintaining discipline;
  • Preparing and marking to facilitate positive pupil development;
  • Meeting requirements for the assessment and recording of pupils' development;
  • Providing feedback to parents on a pupil's progress at regular intervals including parents' evenings and other meetings;
  • Working with others to plan and coordinate work;
  • Taking part in school events and activities which may take place at weekends or in the evening;
  • Planning and delivering an after school club each week during term time;
  • Liaising with colleagues and working flexibly;
  • Taking part in House Activities;
  • Covering for colleagues where necessary:
  • Undertaking playground and lunch duties as required;
  • Attending INSET before the start of each term;
  • Such other work as may be necessary for the safe and efficient running of the school.

Pay and Conditions

An attractive salary will be determined in accordance with the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate. The School offers reduced fees for children of staff at both Highfield and Brookham, the Pre-Prep School.

Nursery Assistant

Brookham Nursery is a special place.  Our team of dedicated staff are caring and nurturing, with a clear understanding of child development and how to support every child as an individual on their educational journey.  We embrace outdoor learning and children can be found outside, no matter what the weather.  We constantly reflect on our practice and we keep up to date with the latest research relating to Early Years Education.

We are looking to recruit a highly motivated, flexible and committed individual to join our team and support us in our mission to provide our Nursery children with the very best start to their educational journey.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the ethos of the school, the children’s happiness, general welfare and safety are maintained to the highest standard.
  • Assist the teacher with the day-to-day running of provision by assisting in planning, preparation and delivery of activities devised to meet children’s developmental needs
  • Undertake any duties in the classroom or playground required of them by the Head and/or class teacher to whom they report.
  • Take responsibility for displays in conjunction with teaching staff.
  • Observe children and record observations using the school’s tracking documents and systems.
  • Attend school lunch and help serve and clear tables alongside the teaching staff.
  • Be responsible for a share of the playground and lunch duties as required.
  • Participate fully in INSET, staff meetings, staff events, parents’ evenings and other events and occasions organised by the School from time to time.
  • Provide cover for other duties for absent colleagues when required.
  • Undertake such other work as may reasonably be required for the needs of the School.

Prospective candidates must have the following qualifications:

  • GCSE or equivalent qualification in English and Mathematics and the ability to use accurate spoken and written English.

Marketing Communications Executive

We are looking to recruit a Marketing Communications Executive to support the Head of Marketing and Development to raise further the profile of Highfield and Brookham Schools. The successful candidate will deliver key aspects of communication with prospective, current and past pupils and parents. They will be responsible for writing press releases, articles for newsletters and magazines, booking advertising, taking photos and organising events.

This is a dynamic, forward-looking school and this post will suit a motivated, disciplined, confident individual seeking a busy and varied role.

This is a full-time role, although part-time or term-time hours would be considered for the right candidate.
